ha ha ha ha ha - got the K4 running today. Sounded a little rough - must have been the spare cylinder going up and down with no petrol. Gunge busting and knuckle shearing later - runs nice - wiht the battery charger connected. Just dies without. - Later I will check electrics...
Now a question for all you clever people. Years ago the leccy boot died and I stripped it off - seem to remember finding this bit of rubber with a Suzuki S on it that fitted the hole just nice. Well - as you do, when the battery also headed off I just put a little 5.5 Ah one in. These die with regularity - am I boiling them with a charging circuit for a bigger battery? - 12Ah as standard.
Also anyone seen one of the points cover screws - it was on the floor before I kicked the lot flying stepping over the greenhouse glass.
Finally - what is the trigger type on a Boyer ignition - I thought the lil coils with the magnet zooming past them was a Hall effect - but seems that these (HE) are dependent on bigger magnets? Just wondering as I have found a DIY CDI unit that can either augment the points, work of HE or something else...
