Oh the joys of motorcycles...................
Put it all back together as per previous info., and then decided to have an early morning try-out. So first thing this morning (forgeting that the clocks go forward) togged myself up and proceded to kick the thing into life. And kicked. And kicked. Took off togs, and kicked. And sweated. Did I put the pipes back the right way? Do I need choke? Is it flooded? Finally it spluttered into life, and sat lumpily ticking over. Togs back on. Phutut, it stalls - ba**ard! More kicking, more sweating - are you getting the picture. Sudden thought "Having cleaned and oiled the petrol cap could it now be air tight?" - slightly illogical but these things happen at moments of stress, and it has a breather pipe - so I open the fuel cap. Another thought occurs "Is there any petrol?" Er, no! Did I feel a t*at or what! Luckily I had a gallon of fuel from when I was MZ racing (about six years old by now and probably pre-mix). Hey Presto, its running again! Finally took it for the test run, and guess what? It still doesn't want to know anything above 40mph!
BIG HAIRY BO**OCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alternator here we come. All I need now is info. on:
Where are the oil drain plugs?
Is there anything I need to be aware of when taking the alternator cover off (which is on the lefthand side when looking to the front - yes)?
