SZR660 handlebar conversion
« on: August 11, 2014, 09:33:17 PM »
I am thinking of raising the bars on my szr, has anyone done this, if so what does it involve does the screen have to be cut, also I was looking to see if the top yoke off a xtz 660 would fit to save drilling the original yoke?

Tarozzi do a range of "clip ons" in various heights and to suit a variety of fork leg diameters. I've never used them (yet). I'm not sure if they go big enough to suit your usd forks or how you'd go on for tank clearance etc, though I'm sure you'd suss that out with some head scratching. They're sold through flat racer and disco volante.

You may have to rethink brake hoses, clutch cable/hose and throttle cables too.

A bespoke new billet machined top yoke may not be out of the question?

Thanks for that. I'm looking at some LSL clipon bars at the moment but need to do some measuring  to see how it will affect the fairing.

I had GSXR750 bars fitted to mine. They raised the height enough to be more comfortable but still cleared the fairing (just)
