Aye pete9263,

If you select 'Technical' and then enter "oil" into the 'Search' box in the top right of the screen, you should get a great list of posts on the oil debate.  ;)

Used to use Halfrauds car 10/40 semi-synthetic in SRX600 and Honda Bros400, also some inexpensive 10/40 semi-synthetic from a motor factors. Both seemed alright for the motor, but the additives lead to clutch slip, especially with the SRX when changing into 5th, having wound the bike up to 5.5K - 6K in fourth and then popping it into top. Lots of nurse and feed with the throttle. After cleaning the plates with brake cleaner and then re-filling with Halfrauds motorcycle 10/40 semi-synthetic no problems. Now use Morris 10/40 semi-synthetic for motorcycles, bought in the 25litre drum delivered to the door for £99-00 [Fleabay]!  :'(  :o But no further problems and the motors are looking good.

I hope this helps.

My regards, Bill.
