nx650 wont rev out

hi folks
a bit of help needed please yesterday i was out on my nx650 dominator and it cut out,but started again straight away but it wont rev over 4,000/5,000rpm it feltl ike it wasnt getting fuel but at tickover it will rev to 6,000rpm ihave clean the carb everything was ok there,changed the plug ,coil .pulse generator checked all the connections still the same i wondering about the cdi but it starts so easyim not sure itf its bad and their expensive ,so the bike just wont rev out thanks any help would be great regards tommy

Might be fuel supply: blockage in the line or (more likely) the filter. Or maybe something's built a nest in the pressure-relief hole in the tank cap.

Aye Tommy,

I don't know the specific carb fitted to the NX650 Domi', but, having had a look at an exploded diagram, it appears to be a CV job with similar nonsense to those fitted to the Bros that I referred to in my post "Simple explanation please.....!".

You say that your carb is all clean as a whistle, in the Bros carbs, the guts around the air valve are bunged up with tar deposits and hence a 'choking' effect when trying to open the throttle. You make no mention of the air filter, is this clean, etc?

I have also followed the advice given in the 'linked' article from Propeller and blocked the venturi in both carbs. Now awaiting the 'O' rings for the float bowls. Pattern ones are £18 a pop, Honda/Keihein ones are £115!  :o :o :o :o each!
