Harris Matchless G80 inquiry
« on: February 25, 2013, 02:20:16 PM »
Can anybody of the experts here tell me something / anything about the (new) Harris Matchless G80. Obviously  it is powered by the 500 Rotax Thumper. In this case only kick start.

One of those have come on my path and I don’t know anything about it. It looks like it’s assembled using all kind of different  components.

There was one at this years Dragon - two varieties, kick only, and kick and electric the guy told me.  It is an amalgam of lots of parts, mainly Italian, assembled in the UK by the chap that assembled Bonnevilles before their final demise.

They seem to go like everything else with the same engine, handle fine etc.  Much the same as the MZ Silver Star.

I think they look quite nice tbh.

I think that mill looks wrong in there. I like the engine, don't get me wrong but not in that bike - mind you what are the alternatives.

BTW Richard (not NL) can you post pics of that mystery bike we found?

A collector.

The last Matchless before they come again to life in a few months/years...

Lots of italian bits (Brembo, Marzocchi, ...), Rotax engine with english frame and skills .... This was Europe !

It was not very punchy but the Rotax is a real thumper.
