Arrived.  Chuffed about the site, albeit a bit civilised.
Note to Self: Shiney side goes UP.

I find myself in the slightly embarrassing situation of having a spare ticket due to slightly modified plans (er - I haven't finished rebuilding my partner's 650 Savage and she refuses to travel in my sidecar if she can't ride her own bike there).

Hence it's up for grabs at face value, otherwise it goes on ebay (which I'd rather not...)

Richard and Friday arrived with me yesterday after a stopover with Simon.

Will take them for a spin along the south west coast to Tenby today via Laugharne, Pendine and Saundersfoot.

Friday is looking cold. ;D

The outfit is nearly prepped, a 'slowy' in the sidecar tyre has been fixed (I hope) and the front wheel is off for new bearings and a tyre. I've tweaked the awning system that Gareth built for it and, possibly for the first time ever, I've got all my camping kit out and sorted with days to spare.

I also fitted a 16 tooth gearbox sprocket in place of the 17 tooth standard one. The bike pulls the sidecar weight ok, but the gear range is a bit off, either chugging at the speed limit or revving in a lower gear. I'm hoping the one tooth difference (being the easiest way to adjust things) will make it easier to ride. I'll find out later today, with luck.

Tonight's task is to fit handlebar muffs. One other task may be to buy a light waterproof jacket to fit over my flying jacket, the one I've got is a bit old and tired (like its owner).

I'm staying at the Giler Arms on Friday at the rally named after our esteemed (and much missed) club member Bruce Pollard. I'll probably bivi on that night rather than have all the pallaver of packing up a tent on Saturday morning. I'm hoping to meet the Llanberis lads at the checkpoint on Saturday. Anyone else doing the Bruce rally or am I Billy-no-mates? ;)
