Thanks again for all your help. My mate at work done a 10/10 job on the patch weld and even cleaned them up with t-cut.Out of interest i purchased a down pipe and muffler of giantcat on evil-bay as some would say which was also stamped GOSHI.HMMMM! One last mention is to the hard working people who keep this site alive,and all those who give up thier time to help others.

Pete- i also bought a right hand silencer off giantcat- he said it was scuffed and when i got it it was deeply scratched- his picture and description was crap.

He only refunded me the price of the item and i had to pay postage both ways- tosser! Cost me £17 for nothing

He sent me a load of ebay rules crap and i eventually just slagged him off and left it.

Simmo,have to agree with you there.My left side was just as bad.Though did manage to get a half decent left down pipe off him.Wonder were the right one went? Wouldnt buy again off him.

I had good results on the dyno with a pair like this, I'm going to try them again with the larger diameter downpipes that I got last year. With a 600 conversion and an HRC cam they are best described as 'rorty'.
I have a set of standard 1986 silencers in the garage, not been used since 1986, the chrome has a lot of light pitting but otherwise I think they are good. I'll have to have a look at them when I get a chance, sounds like they may be useful to someone.

Silencers- yep they sound great for what i was after- but i have now spent hours on and bought perf tube and wodding to mend my old ones!!

Someone will snap them up though!

Nice one Simmo,spent a Sunday afternoon with sand paper on the down pipes with the worst of the orange stuff removed,then hit the pipes with wood burner paint.NICE ONE! Looks much better than the old rusty bits.Out bid on the carb on  eBay though- was my next Sunday project.

Mate- xbr carbs have been going for a year or so at £60+ I think you missed out big time! 

tony.mon is a nice guy- it's him i got my nice exhausts off, also some brakes and mirrors.

I've got a carb completely stripped in bits (by previous owner) so if you know what part you need for your carb i might be able to help. The mice got at the diaphragms though (again the previous owners mice!!)
