... but I'll need to lift the tank if I get a tankbag for it so it's good to know there are no hidden fixings that I've not seen!
Bike going well and giving me lots of fun btw
Cheers,

Aye Smudge,
Herman sold and new owner has just done 2500Km in the past month!
As for lifting the tank to fit tankbag, don't bother. Lidl bag, front strap through frame gap beneath tank. Fit rear strap to the side attachments and slide/thread below moulded lip at the back of the tank where the seat fits in. Adjust buckle to off-side, tighten and neatly half hitch 'flappy/endy bit' so that it doesn't! Keep magnet flaps dowm to protect tank sides. All stayed 'put' at 90mph+

.
No problem removing tank for easy maint, just remove bolts from rear of tank and then rear tank support as well. Tank slides back/up and out, no prob.

Amorall all rubber bushes afore replacing tank, make supple and slide and copper grease all fixings.
Latest problem appears to be burning oil at an alarming rate, 0.5 litre/250 miles!

No smoke and no smell when being followed. Plug clean and exhaust not wet or sooty.

Suspect either oil seals on valve stems or more likely, not enough/infrequent running to date and 'gentle' running-in. Bore and rings behaving like a skating rink rather than making a sealed contact or maybe a sticky ring! New owner to check after the winter, a cracked front disc replacement (CHECK YOURS

) and new chain and sprocket set and maybe a new back tyre!
Will keep posted of outcomes.
Keep boppin', Bill.
