I have a tired old sidecar outfit in the garage and all the good bits from my other GB500 outfit (I sold the chair from that one).
Although I will be building up an outfit with the large Busmar Astral chair that I recently bought, I want to get the XBR rig back on the road quite soon. I was intending carrying on with the old Squire that's fitted, but I have hankered after a little Velorex (like club member Richard's) for quite a while now. I kept a fair-weather eye out for one and the other day I snaffled a chassis for £16:

I knew that RobG had a Velorex chair body in his garden and I took him up on his long-running offer to have it.
It has cost, so far, £16 plus collection costs of £15. The chassis has seen better days, but it's much easier to repair something that's complete than to make something from scratch. As you can see from the picture, I'm only missing one fitting, but I can either fab one up or buy one from Dave Angel (F2 motorcycles). God knows what that wheel is off, but sorting that out should be cheap and easy.
The body looks like this:

(as an aside, the bloke who built that outfit welded a 2" thick steel plate between the chassis tubes to stiffen it up and add 81lb of ballast).
The outfit will have leading link forks carrying a 16" Honda wheel with single disk. The rear wheel will be a 15" alloy that takes car tyres. The engine is a modified NX650 motor. I'm also toying with the idea of fitting my old Powerbronze full fairing.
If any of you have a Velorex in the garage, can you tell me how the body attaches to the chassis, is it just bolted straight on or is there any form of rubber mounting?
Cheers
