Pat's got a new bike :-)
« on: September 15, 2006, 06:53:55 AM »
Here's a piccie of my new bike

Cycled into work today and haven't felt so good in a long time. 14 mile trip oop 'ill 'n' down dale. Brilliant! Is there any better feeling than cresting a hill you've pedalled (or climbed come to that) and seeing a new view reveal itself.

Used to cycle to work all the time, and I must admit it got a little tedious in the wind/rain/sleet/snow, but, I didn't realise how much I'd missed the pleasant morning rides, through avenues of trees, with nowt but birds for company.

Heyho, thats enough dribble for now, off to plan a road trip home via the back lanes. :-)

Nice bike... but old. Rare to see one of that era in such good nick.

Saddle looks nose down to me, is it comfortable?

And, are those spuds on the cranks or normal pedals? I didn't think you'd entered the SPD age :-)

It's not in that good a nick close up, and yes the saddle is a little nose down, a fact I discovered this morning.
Pedals are the cleated sort and about as modern as I get, but It's hard to beat the extra 'pull' you can get with cleats as well as the ability to leapfrog the backend when blatting over high curbs :-) I think actually, I'm more of a hooligan with pedal power, than I ever am when motorised.
