Dead Dommie

Started Dolly as usual to leave work yesterday, pulled off and rode to the first roundabout and phut! Dead. Nothing, nowt, bugger all! No power anywhere on the bike. So assumed a blown main fuse and pushed it 200yrds back to the yard to whip off the side cover and change the fuse (did you know Honda have a spare fitted in a small rubber holder under the connector. Clever buggers those Honda designers) Sadly the fuse was fine time to call out the AA. He puts a meter over the battery while I scoff "Won't be the battery matey, she had plenty of juice to spin the motor". Totally flat battery! Bike started off his jump pack and ran once it was disconnected. Meter showed 13v across the battery whilst running. Switch off motor and the volts plummet to nowt in seconds. A call to Jethro confirms the likeliest diagnosis of a battery having gone open circuit. So off to spend some dosh this morning

I am feeling your pain.  I had been suffering the same with the skorpion, and am pleased to be back on the DR.  It also has an almost dead battery, but at least its got a kickstart.

I think thumpers are pretty hard on wet cells: lots of vibes and and big starter motors which have to spin heavy motors for a relatively long time before firing.

I know I'm a luddite, but I'd maybe even consider retro-fitting a kickstart to the skorpion...

Lack of kicker is about all I can fond to complain about the Dommie. Did have them on the earlier models, then Honda took it off!!!
Heyho, all fixed now and good output from generator/regulator/rectifier Just didn't like the £35 bill

Ontop of the Biccies in work.

The storemans wife works at Burtons Biscuits.She supplies him with Boxes of the things for work.
I mean these boxes are the same sort of size as the boxes helmuts come in....for a £1 or £1.50.
Jaffa cakes,choccie fingers,choc short cake and choccie digestives all sorts.

AND one of the customers must work for a vending company...so she arrives with bin liners full of crisps,boxes of twix and M and Ms as well as the drinking choclate,coffe and sugar.

The problem I have is the lack of self control.
When ever I have a cuppa or walk past got to have at least one biccie,or a packet of crisps with my sandwiches.

Bugger !

Will have to assess my fees

Apples are very good and abundant this time of year.  Not for eating but for jamming in the jaws like a suckling pig (long pig I guess).  Having done this it is next to impossible to eat anything.
