XBR rejetting part 2!
« on: June 04, 2007, 01:20:27 PM »
Hi guys

I've tried my local bike shop for 167 main jets for Keihin CV carbs; they have told me that the largest size they can get is 160. Any suggestions? Did you both (one pot and richard 003) use drills to expand the original jet or is my bike shop misinforming me?

Regards

Chris

They mis-informed you !
Try some where else.
I believe 165 is the standard main in a Dommie.....but not totally certain.

I know for sure the largest they do is 165 which I have on my GB500 with an open Rocket gold Star exhaust.

Thanks guys, I've emailed the UK Keihin distributor. They have similar looking jets on their site:

http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/keihinjets.html

A couple of these look familiar, I'm hoping Allens can tell me which ones from the carb number but if not I'll have to whip the carb off and strip it down to measure the jet and compare it to their chart.

There certainly aren't any with a max size of 160 as stated by the shop so that tends to suggest they're wrong but not sure if any of the jets listed will fit my XBR...

Don't fancy buying a drill kit and trying to drill the bugger out myself!

The carb model is VE10A, is that the same as the Dommie?

You can get a  full range from Dynojet. I fitted a dynojet kit in my Dommi and  in the kit you get a 150 a 155 and a 165. As mine ran better when cold i have just fitted a 148 and seeing how it goes. I called them asking for the next 2 sizes down from a 150 and the nice lady sent them free. Look up Dynojet UK and ask. If they ask  you the kit code tell them its for a 1990 NX650 L  the kit is DHJ-1144 and the jet is DJ165.

Thanks Ken, I'll try Dynojet. Figure the 165 should do the trick.
