It must be a sickness
« on: October 14, 2023, 06:18:19 PM »
After months of faffing about with the Inazuma (Newzuki) I have finally got it to handle well and be comfortable(ish) for my shoulder; so much so that today I looked forward to going for a ride on it. Fair play to it it will always be just a little off perfect, but it is now close enough to be ok for a ride out.

Newzuki is reliable, smooth, fairly good looking and quite fast and economical enough for me. In short it is the kind of bike I could only dream of when I had a young family and rode CZs.

BUT.......

When I got home today I opened my garage door to begin addressing the many problems 'enjoyed' by the Mighty Midget; rattly timing chain, worn out rear chain, leaky carb, occasional excess oil use and speed restricted to 45mph by my mechanical sympathy. Within about 30 seconds of opening the door I was in heaven. I love that bike with all of its faults and know very well which one I would save in the event of a garage fire.

Surely that's got to be a sickness and one I know is shared by many of you out there in Thumper land!

Aye Ian,

The MM is your wee pal and in spite of it's phoibles it'll be your wee safety blanket from life. Thas no sickness or squit, jus a happy place.

Go give the MM a hug from me! When I lock the place up at night, I always say goodnight to the bikes and give the Duke a pat on the saddle. No whinnying, so far, unlike from the wee Welshy we had for 18 years. Now there was a character! ;D

Good health, Bill

Thank you Bill, beautifully put. I knew the good men of Thumper Club Land would understand.
