2 bikes this year
« on: November 14, 2021, 01:34:12 PM »
Both bikes are parked in the dining room this year, the YB100 just needs wheels and exhaust system and the XBR is in for its 3000 mile supercharged check over and some more modifications

Looking good! What mods for the XBR, then?
Btw, I did enquire about the possibility of having my bikes indoors, following your previous posts.
Apparently, there is rule about this;
Yes, the bikes can come inside, but not me at the same time...😬

I suppose this is therefore a "known quantity"!  ;)

Good health, Bill

mthee, My wife knew what she was signing on for when she met me, when she moved into my 1 bed flat that had 3 motorcycles 2 bicycles and a jet engine. There are rules, I have to drain the oil and make sure its clean, a plastic sheet goes down and then an old rug so the nice stuff doesnt get ruined. Changes for this year are to get rid of the cylinder base spacer so I can use the standard XBR cam chain but that means I will have to skin 2mm off the piston crown, at the moment the can chain is 2 links longer but it is very loose and after only 3000 miles the tensioner is on its limit, I may also increase the compression a little more from 7.5:1 to 8:1other than that Im lifting the fairing by 2cm and giving it all a repolish

3 motorcycles 2 bicycles and a jet engine

Dang! I was 1 motorcycle, 1 bicycle and 1 jet engine short. Only guessing here, but she was so impressed by the jet engine, you got to have the bikes indoors?😎👍

Does bringing a “spitfire” inside count as a jet engine 😉
Best of luck with the mods Joolz 👍
Cheers, Michael

Thanks Bill it was an enjoyable afternoon doing the wheels:) yes lovely fire, we use ecocoal a mix of anthricite and olive pits crushed and compressed far better than the real coal we used to use, we also burn logs

Looks great and probably not to be tried by an amateur like myself. I'll add it to my list of biking stuff not to try, right next to supercharging 😁👍

mthee, you have to risk it to achieve success :)
