hmmmm . bit strange , good luck to the guys , hope they do well with it...
but i have considerable experience in 'recumbent' riding & racing.... and on todays roads you are extremely vulnerable
also, VERY hard going, especially up hill ......

this is worth a look

thanks bill ...

there seems to be massive investment in the last few years on all kinds of electric bikes and concept type bikes and some of them look really cool and look even cooler to someone 30 years younger than me ::) the auld combustion engine is on its way out :'(and me being a petrol head was thinking in years to come not that many dooh)when I,m sitting in the auld bikers home playing with my plastic model katana with a wobbly front end the model not me or maybe me as well ha  :o :o :o when you say to your helper who is  bringing you to bingo ,,I remember v8 and v6 motors and turbo charged spondon Suzuki ,s and big singles with high lift cams roaming the roads looking for a dice  with other road users, a dem were the days  before these 16bhp limits and speed tracking devices fitted to every thing  and they will say { yeah whatever grand dad } sooooooooooooo  don't let it pass you by  get out on your bike and have a bit of craic  tommy

Yep, I've been through a recumbent phase. As you say, they do have their advantages, in particular comfort, and perhaps a bit of extra speed down hill. My average speeds were always about the same as with a normal bike, but I just never felt like I was going as well. And then, there's the vulnerability to factor in.....
