Keihin Carb parts
« on: April 25, 2007, 10:36:33 PM »
Hi
I have been searching all over and to no avail - I cannot find out what should be on the end of the air / fuel screw on the CG - it is a Keihin PD88 carb and I have one really poor pic that suggests that there is an O ring (no prob) and a bush or a washer - no probs if I have the dimensions etc.  But I cannot find owt and the Boss is demanding that I swithch this thing off.

Anyone help please?

I've got a pair of CG carbs in the garage, I'll wander down there tonight and have a gander.

Ta muchly GC - take care though they seem to stick in the bore of the fuel/air screw and then fall out when least expected into the leaf mould never to be seen again.

My garage may be cluttered, but it doesn't have leaf mould on the floor :)

I've never had a CG, but CDs and CBs have an O ring on the air screw and a spring behind it. Could be the spring your missing. i'm just guessing though.

Yup there is a spring and an O ring - but also something else - a washer or a bush between the spring and the O ring.  I can see it on a poor drawing I have (Haynes) and I have seen on the interweb.  In Haynes they are both called "O ring" Ummmmm

I did think I was imagining things and put mine back together with out - the spring chewed the O ring into bits - guessing the other bit is to avoid this.

Just had a look on my  manaul for my Dommi. It shows the screew the spring a washer and an O ring. I would guess the washer is a fiber washer.

The Washer is a little steel number.
To stop the spring mashing the O-ring.

Experiential learning tells me that - is it just a lil washer with the similar ID and OD to the O ring - or is it thicker than a 'normal' washer?
