Aye MrFluffy and Smudge,

These Kawazaki Z fiends have some severe 'problems'! I am acquainted with two, both of whom have a wife/partner with at least one of their own. Must be at least 20 between them, all in various states of repair and use including a Foale, a 'Legend' and assorted Rickies.

Have a peek at this: http://www.z1ownersclub.co.uk/

Similar carefree philosophy as this club and the Irish contingent....... well!

Worth a blether or a mention if you wish to sell the beloveds. :-(

Regards, Bill

I remember the Zed Cred in the owners magazine...a form of Inverted Snobbery.

Jethro

I'm currently using the Zed cred approach to getting the carbon out of a silencer, Potato wedged in one end and caustic soda poured in the other!

Saves a whopping £3.99 over buying an exhaust bung, although actually it doesn't as I own a bung, I just can't find it.

If you have access to a Ox Ace set - get the end of the pipe cherry and turn off the gas - leave the O2 running - clears the carbon wonderfully.  Alt put the vacume cleaner on blow, get the carbon at the end of the pipe cherry and then quickly replace the blow torch with the blowing cleaner - again does a better job than caustic, but not  as quick as O2.  WARNING - do not use the cleaner on suck - been there done that had the dust bag fire...

i say it simple  bike are build to ride them aren`t they? so i prefere to see a old bike
ridden even when it is not in prestine condition if the spokes are a bit rusty
and the tank has a dent the paint is flaking , if it leaking a bit ,
btw a bike doesnt leak it marks his territory
i met once a old guy from norway down in south france on a old norton pre 1940 single army version
it was rattling, it was smoking but he was riding it and he said it smokes since 25 years and
hes using it since 1950 every day for going to workand shopping  and for going in hollidays ,
it was so nice to see a old bike still in use for wht it was build for
