I'd love to attend to pay my respects, but sadly my daughter has already booked me to look after the grand kids for the day whilst she goes to her works Xmas do.  :(

Tim has very kindly offered for me to stay at his place tomorrow night, so I am setting off on the TDM early afternoon tomorrow. This means I can break the 170 mile journey overnight and I will then be heading onto Derbyshire the following morning. Many thanks Tim. Brad XT (Cliff)

I have received more directions from Cath.

I have tried to load the pictures from whatsapp to here but if these to codes above do not result in pictures I will have to wait for tech support to come back from the pub. Google bartlewood lodge and you get a map that should clear thing up.

Cath's message
"I visited the site today. Turn as if you are going to Bartlewood Lodge, which has a big blue sign on the main road.Follow the lane until you see on your LHS the sign in the second photo above.Go through the gate in your car ( it should be open)  to Dale Hill and park.On the day the gate will be locked at approximately 1.30 pm, so please ensure you have driven out of the car park by then.

Hope this helps.

The grass is quite lumpy and today the wind whistled.

Come cosily dressed!

Thank you."

It was quite an occassion and a good celebration of Boyd's life and his persona. Good to experience a Humanist Natural burial scripted by Boyd and with a fine representation of Thumper Clubbers.

Tried copying from other thread.
Yep. Those photos bring back a lot of happy memories in the company of lovely genuine people. The whole way through Boyds send off today, I just had the image of his big round happy face in front of me. So it's only right that we all go back to the Red Lion next year to celebrate him, and Ifor, with great bikes, great beer, great food, and great company  :)

there you are ! ,Furry

Really sorry to have missed this and pleased to hear Boyd had a good send off. I'll certainly raise a glass (or two!) to him at the Red Lion in the summer.

Yes it was a good way to celebrate Boyd's life. I was so glad to see him at the Red Lion last summer and buy him a pint, so it is only fitting that we return there next year, as posted by Timbo.
The ride home from Derby was an interesting one. After heading off before 1pm I eventually made it home at 9.30pm. And no I didn't get lost again Mr Dalby and no I also didn't buy a map!!
Firstly I had all the fun of a Road Rage incident with a guy throwing punches at me, despite the fact I was wearing a helmet. Hah hah hah. Then a breakdown due to a flat battery. But it was worth it to pay my respect to Boyd. Cheerz to all who made it. Cliff (BradXT).
