Statfold Barns

Went on my first ever RATS trip, (Railwaymans Arms Touring Society) to this truely remarkable place on saturday. It is one man's private railway, and there were 18 narrow guage locos from all over the world in steam and pulling passengers all day. Also a museum full of static locos. Altogether I reckon he has amassed over 30 steam locos, and 20 diesel locos, plus loads of other interesting stuff. A railway station, workshops etc, and a substantial network of 2" track. Open three days a year for charity, plus other special events, tickets are £10, and you apply online. Near Tamworth, and an amazing day out  :)

Excellent. I've read about it but never been. It sounds amazing though.

Most railway enthusiasts are nearly as OCD about their hobby as us bike nuts!

Went early this year it is a remarkable place and so clean considering all the steam engines about the place. It is a true family day out and you can ride the trains all day.
