Silverstone!
« on: August 29, 2018, 09:13:43 AM »
Thought I would move over to the blether area rather than cluttering up the group cuddle board.

Firstly, I am delighted to read that Tito Rabat is up and walking on his plated leg, inspite of potentially having the femoral artery severed in the collision. A very lucky and gutsy man.

This is a link to a blog article by Mat Oxley on the background to the debacle, I'll leave you to make up your own minds: Mat_Oxley'_Silverstone_blog

I am sure that Aggregate Industries (AI) will be contacting Tommy in the near future, with his offer to re-lay the surface and smooth it down with the back of the shovel!  ;D all for the princely sum of £5,000!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Craic on Tommy.

My regards, Bill

Thanks for the link Bill. Certainly makes for interesting reading eh. Google the 1985 silverstone gp if you get the chance, when fast Freddie spencer (my all time hero) won the 250/500 double. Boy did it rain that day,  WET....I'll say I was wetter than a duck that day🦆😁. Just watch him go completely sideways, speedway style with the rain bouncing 6 inches off the ground. Unbelievable to watch, especially back in 85 when gp bikes just didn't really do that kind of thing....brilliant. I got very, very wet that day but boy was I glad I'd made the trip down
Cheers, Michael
