Its Tenere Time!
« on: July 16, 2018, 09:52:46 AM »
Well I finally bit the bullet, and bought an 09 XT660Z off of Gumtree last Friday. It was a total impulse buy, and the seller in Glasgow seemed like a sound fella. The bike isnt mint, but as described, has a ton of extras, and the noise from the Leo Vince exhaust is awsome. Also for those from a celtic nation, the rampant scottish lion decal will be remaining on the bike  ;)
So i got a bus to Wolves, and a direct train to Glasgow for 13:30. Paul, the seller picked me up, and turned out to be a top bloke. By 14:30 i was heading south, with all paperwork inc tax done online. Sat at 85mph comfortably down the M74. Very strange to now have a bike that has the power to handle motorway speeds, and even overtake!
Then I hit the friday afternoon on the M6! Please see rants section  :)
Got home eventually, and could I get this monster through my front door? Eventually, only just.

Nice bike to buy Tim, does this mean something else is up for sale? I like the Teneres but always found them to be too tall for me but very desirable.

Thanks to some good friends in NI, I have sold nearly all my bikes and projects. I needed a more modern mile muncher that was still a Thumper, and the Tenere fits the bill. Still in the process of giving it a full service and checking everything else out. Unless there is a desert in Wales, it wont be heading off anywhere of that ilk  :)

We have an area in Wales known as the 'green desert' if thats any help.  Great for Teneres and their ilk.
Note to Self: Shiney side goes UP.
