Unfortunately it's just been announced that the event has been postponed till next year due to legislative issues related to racing on public roads !!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but according to MCN the Welsh road race seems to have run into problems and it's likely to be called off !  I have looked on the website and you now cannot buy tickets with the site saying they have a technical problem? Let's hope it still go's ahead as I have already booked some days off to attend .

What a crying shame if it doesn't go ahead, the guy who I sold the ikuzawa to played a fairly big part in getting it all organised. Think I've still got his email address, I'll try dig it out and email him up and see if he can shed any light on the matter... cheers, Michael

Something that strikes me as odd, is it looks as though a huge amount of effort and a sizeable amount of money has gone into this already, and I would have thought that the first thing to be confirmed with the appropriate authorities is the use and closure of roads,
without that it is pointless putting effort/money into the project.

When i first heard about the Welsh road race, I must admit I was sceptical, as its a huge undertaking, in our modern risk avirce world. I really hope they can overcome all the hurdles to make it happen, as it would be a fantastic event.

Yep, wer'e well disappointed too. Had it all planned for the weekend. They had apparently got an extra day pencilled in for the Friday and got things in place for 2019 too so it seems a bit odd. Unless it was all PR nonsense to drum up some interest.

I see in MCN that it looks like more of a disagreement / misunderstanding / cock up with the ACU...
and that people who have bought tickets will be refunded (where have I heard that before... )
just wonder what the poor bu55ers who also booked accommodation are going to do ... I hope they only booked and didn't pay
