Fairport Convention

Nothing to do with bikes!

Went to see Fairport Convention at Lincoln last night, for a bunch of pensioners they still put on a damn good gig! 51 years since they first formed and still going strong (admittedly in various line ups over the years).

Good night out!!

It's a few years since I've seen them, but they're all damn good musicians and put on an excellent show. They have never taken themselves too seriously either, which always helps IMHO....

I have followed Fairport since I saw them at the 68 isle of wight festival, hugely influential group, their lineup over the gears have included the great & good of folk and rock....
I personally think they were at their best when fronted by Sandy Denny, fabulous voice and wonderful song writer... sadly missed.

Yes, a tragic loss, 40 years this year since she died......in her own words, " Who knows where the time goes....."
