New Year things to do
« on: December 31, 2017, 10:22:08 AM »
It's 2018 tomorrow and instead of new year resolutions which inevitably get broken I have decided on some things I want to do next year. Not surprisingly most of them are bike related!

Do the Dragon Rally
Have at least one trip to Scotland by bike
Go to Shepherds Rest weekend
Test ride a 350 OHC Jawa
Do the Stella Alpina rally
Be able to run the old circuit I used to run in our local woods again
Finally tell my mate I am never going to own a Harley or Suzuki Burgman (his twin favourites)

I think that will do for now, I'll let you know next December how many I achieved.

New flat roof , paint the outside of the house , lay some slabs , sort out the plumbing  whoops wrong list that's the reality now for the fantasy.

1 Get over to the Sheperds rest meet (holiday form put in yesterday)
2 Stay over for the Cookstown 100 (depends on above)
3 Go to the Welsh road race in August
4 Like you Smithy explore Scotland a little
5 Really would like to do the Swedish tet ending up at Nord Kapp
6 Want to try trial riding the only motorcycle sport I've never tried (forgot speedway never done that either)
7 Get myself a small trail bike (getting to old to pick up the tenere)

Blimey this list is getting long , if I manage half of them I'll be doing well .  :)

I would love to see you folks a the Shep Rest. Your visit Scotland idea resonates with me, as I am definitely due a tour. Look at the Cal Mac ferry deals for the Western Isles, as an Island hopping tour really appeals to me, staying in bothys or camping 😀

Hi Tim

Thanks, I know Crazyfrog and I are talking about coming over to Shepherds Rest together so hopefully see you there and at the Dragon. As for Scotland maybe there's a Thumper Club tour beginning to take shape? I can thoroughly recommend Applecross as a destination over the Bealach na Baa to the campsite with the flower tunnel café/restaurant.

Sadly the flower tunnel restaurant is now closed. Good campsite and great pub though. Awesome road.
Note to Self: Shiney side goes UP.
