Aye Steve,
An SRX 250 with an XT350 motor installed and everything else kept pretty much 'standard' and tidy, with a white paint job, with a red stripe down the dorsal central line of the machine.
It was located in Alston, Cumbria, which shares with Buxton the accolade of being "The highest market town in England". Bonny spot up in the Pennines that I used to visit regularly with the Duke 450 in the mid '70's when at college in Penrith. The A686 up to Hartside and into Alston was always 'busy' at the weekend, but out to the North and East of the town the Pennine grouse moors were yours on your own and mid-week was sublime!

These days I believe they commit seppuku whilst trying to 'race' to the Hartside Cafe, which at the time of my journeys was a ruin like a concrete pillbox with no windows and burnt out cars taken up there by the 'joy riders'.

My regards, Bill
