Nice Enfield
« on: October 09, 2017, 09:49:52 AM »
Nothing fancy, just a lovely looking 500 Bullit, bought by my mate Barry for £200 in a poor, and rusty state. he reckons he's spent £600 doing it up, and always seems to be able to hand polish bikes up to a great standard. As you can see its an Enfield, rather than a Royal Enfield, which probably dates it as 1980s or early 1990s. I built the wheels on it for him, though he is my wheel building guru  ;)

Well played that man  :)

Its great to see work thats neat, tidy, well done and results in a bike to ride with no exhaust wrap or cut down mudguards in sight.

Aye Barry has an amazing skill in turning out very clean bikes. We put new rims on this RE and he gave me the old ones, (yes, he actually trusted me to build the wheels!). One went onto the front of my RE, the other went onto a mates RE Model G 350, and the rim that came off it, got blasted and painted, and put onto another mates Panther Model 60. I love good recycling stories  :D
Barry also has a small, but perfectly formed, collection of Russian bikes  :)
