K&N OIL filter recall
« on: October 04, 2017, 06:27:39 PM »
I know you lot mostly just shove old rags in the hole, but I had a mail today saying K&N are recalling spin on filters made between  March and September 2016. If any of you have such a beast, it could be worth checking their site or M&P's.

The Enfield uses a holy bogroll type thing (Batman), so I'm guessing the mail was for one I bought the NC.

None of my bikes have spin on filters, several have no filters at all (and not because I don't bother).

Useful info for those that ride modern bikes though.
Note to Self: Shiney side goes UP.

Thank you Andy, but only use K&N air filters.

My regards, Bill

This problem has been going on for quite some time,On the Triumph forum I frequent there have been several tales of sudden oil on rear tyre type episodes with damaged engines,The problem has been  (as far as can be told) the nut that is spot welded to the top,One chap had several on his shelf and when he checked them you could see daylight under the nut on a couple of them,People have been chasing K&N over this to no avail so it is about time they took their head out of the sand and did something,I still doubt the poor sods that had them fail will get any closure ..... I will never use there oil filters again >:( >:( >:( (have always used genuine Triumph)
