Morning Bill, actually mate no it wasn't  ;) ;).....it was the "Alcatraz" bike by northwest customs. Just felt it was different, and worth a look, clearly not built to ride (at least not very far :) :)) However the tiger cub us a lovely little machine...cheers, Michael

Love both of those, fantastic. The alcatraz is mind blowing in it's engineering excellence, and the cub is just soooo pretty.  :)

Aye Michael,
The non-rideables are not really up my street, got to be able to swing a leg over or through and give it a whirl!  ;)

Some of the late '60's early '70's extended fork choppers were similar, all bling and flash, with unobtainium paint this side of the pond and impossible to ride geometry.  :( I much prefer the 'bush' engineering of the New Zealand and Aussie genre ( ::) ), had to get the passe arty bits in!  ;)

Keep building and keep the Beef Tub curves in mind, not the M6 straights.  :-X

My regards, Bill

I totally hear what you're saying Bill and yes I generally agree with you. However I do like and can appreciate the workmanship that goes into something like the "Alcatraz" bike and just thought as it was a "thumper" it mite worthy of a quick look. Don't worry tho the "tracker" I'm on with at the mo will defo be rideable......and hopefully ridden. Cheers, Michael

Non-rideable? Are you sure? I mean, the guy has incorporated a selection of cup holders;
from wee dram upwards!

Or maybe it's destined for the Turner Prize, exploring that old adage, "About as much use as 4 ashtrays on a motorcycle" ?

MMMmmmm!  :-\

I'm still not convinced in spite of your protestations. A wee nippy sweety holder, OK! But, dome head philips screws and sharp edges to the holes in the metal rings?!  :-\  The maker just seems to have purchased a new bandsaw and belt sander and decided to use the bandsaw box making technique for the overall lines of the sculpture and then rough it up a bit with some nobbly bits and sharp edges.

Have a watch of this video; this is artistry and a delight to behold whatever the finished article: V8_Arial_Atom

Happy viewing.

I think this area of the build is meant to "speak" about dropping the soap in the showers at Alcatraz.... :o

As to the video, was anything so expertly done, made to look so easy! Thanks for the link.

Maybe they're receptacles for Savlon & pile ointment?
