Good morning,
Thank you all for the many differing viewpoints expressed on this thread.
This is a link to a statement issued by Mistral Racing [
Mistral_Racing_statement], if you haven't read it; in my opinion it indicates the depth of the mire that the race organisers and sponsors have made for themselves. There is nothing new about this cat and mouse game when 'winning' either kudos or hard cash is involved, but consistancy in the application of the published rules is the least the paying public should be able to expect!
I agree that the whole experience of both the 'old' MGP and the post 2013 'Festival' are great, having lived on the IoM and visited many times since the mid '70's. But, to sell the experience on the back of a 'Run what you brung' time trial over a ~37mile 'hill climb' course, rather than the advertised racing classes and to credit outright class lap records to out of class machinery, is bad form for those amateurs who supported and continue to support the original ethos of the MGP.
Here is another opinion
Mike_Nicks_Why?.
I just hope the Classic TT organisers don't louse it up for us all; the whole event becoming a 'side show' to an over priced "marketing opportunity" like Glastonbury and T in the Park!
As for ITV4's 'programme' last night!

Off to the workshop!

My regards, Bill
