I`m liking the look of it Matt. I`d persevere to see how you get on with them, it will probably get easier the more you use it. Nice arty pictures too  ;)

Another short trip has persuaded me to replace the original bars which are now back on. I really enjoyed the racing position, but I reckon more of a standard roadster is what I should be aiming for. With this in mind, I shall try to get the seat cut and recovered to resemble this classic type;

If I were you Matt I'd go for the standard XBR bars - there is a pair on Ebay for about £22 a side - and figure out a way to reinstate the decompressor off the bars ( seemed a strange conversion to me anyway). That way you get the standard riding position which is pretty comfy without being too sporty and it would sort out the fork problem.

Yep, I agree. I'd go with the standard set up, which is only a bit sporty, and hence, comfy  ;)

Went for another run out on the MZ today, about 50 miles but not too pleasant....sea mist all over, so I got pretty wet. Loads of bikes about, people were even sitting in the hedge rows at 8.30am in the mist, keeping their patch dry and waiting for the sun to burn away the mist ready for the racing  ;)

For those of us who can't be there, I really can't thank you enough for bringing us a flavour of what's happening. You're TC's local reporter! More, please, manxie!

Aye Tim and my thanks to Steve for the translation.  ;) Nae bad! Was meant to read "Another "People's" bike is ready for you to customize!"  ::)

So, what are you up to, with it? I wouldn't make Coke cans out of the alloy.

Regards, Bill

Morning chaps...again it's really a case of what I did yesterday.  Started having a practice run to deseam the petrol tank on the tracker project bike, tricky but I'm confident of being able to pull the job off, just going to take a bit longer than I thought. There again most of the jobs I do seem to be like that ;) ;). Hopefully be worth all the effort in the end as I think it will look like a completely different tank. We shall see (hopefully)
Cheers, Michael
