Just thinking, with the GB coming from the Netherlands, the headlamp will dip the wrong way. I`m guessing any headlamp the correct diameter would fit??  Also, does anyone know where I could get correct NOS mirrors for it? Thanks

Now, let me tell you 'new' boys a cautionary tale........

Once upon a time there was a member of this very club ( not me) who while searching the Evilbay found a poor unloved GB500. The GB was cursed with the most godawfully ugly fairing and King & Queen seat ever seen by man (the ugly sisters?) and so was going very cheap (£900ish).

Our bold hero felt sorry for the poor GB and thought it deserved a better life and so, even though he couldn't really afford it and didn't really want it, he put on the £900 starting bid 'just to get the auction going'

However, the curse of ugliness that had been put upon it was very strong and so imagine his horror as , day by day, no-one else felt sorry for the poor GB and his was the only bid.

Imagine if you will the strange squirming feeling deep in his bowels and the final hours ticked by, still with no other bids, as he realised that A) he was going to win it  B) He really couldn't afford it and ......C) HE WOULD HAVE TO TELL HIS WIFE!!

And so it came to pass that he did indeed win the poor GB and he had to send his mate to collect it so he could hide it until he found the appropriate moment to tell his dearly beloved.

And so a warning....beware of browsing for  bikes on the web and never ever bid on a poor ugly GB you really can't afford even if it is cheap.

There is a happy (ish) end to our story as he managed to sell the ugly sisters and the GB at a profit but probably not before he had suffered the death of a thousend whinges!!

  Great story Steve, bit of a bargain by the sounds of things, those king and queen seats must be worth about .... £20?  Sadly, the one I`ve just bought was a bit dearer than that but I wonder if the K&Q seat is available for sale, I may look into that!! On a more positive not, there`s been no moaning from my better half...yet, just a few rolls of the eyes  May be the calm before the storm, especially when she asks the dreaded..."how much was it?" She`s only questioned the shipping cost up `til now

Here you are. I wasn`t going to show you this because you will see the price of it and don`t know if I can take the abuse  Some will think it`s silly money, others will think it`s a good deal? It is after all an XBR in a fancy suit. I think it`s a good deal hence my purchase. It`s in a dealers who sold it new to the one previous owner. It has done just under 3000 miles, and I think it was stored in the owners living room? We`ve all seen the one in Wales for sale at £6500 and to be fair, when these things appear for sale they seem to be good money (just making myself feel better here) One sold at Bonhams for 9200  ........ here goes, be kind  .......

.....actually when you convert it, it's not a bad price for a near as damnit new GB.....even if it is just an XBR  in an Armani suit & boots !

But PLEASE use it ...I'll let you off only using it on nice days... but just ride it and enjoy it.
