Timbo's Guessing...!!!

A shout out for Tim & Alison.... Sorry if you two are on the edge of your seats..! The Yamaha MT-03 secured a very fair trade in amount, the moment the dealer clapped eyes on it, last week.... and just today a very good friend bought my FX 650 Vigor off me... They are going towards a Moto Guzzi V7 Classic Stone... ( the mark two version ) They have finally developed them further.... Six speed g/box containing it's own oil pump, and longer frame tubes, getting the engine about an inch lower, plus a few other bits and bobs. With luck, you should see it in September. The little CL400 will be in the pages of the VJMC owners club in days... Now that secret is out, will I still be allowed to be in this club..!!!!   Tony...

Lovely real world bike. When I first saw one at the bike show some years ago I was very taken with it. It bucks the trend towards bigger, faster more complicated and concentrates on solid, reliable, useable instead. More power to Guzzi's elbow and enjoy the new toy.

Hear hear.

Can't comment on that exact bike, although I have no doubt it is a great bike, but I agree generally with what you've said.

It's partly my age but also partly the situation on the roads today. 180bhp seems pointless. Also, I feel there is too much emphasis on electronic gadgets. Get back to basics I say.

BEIGE is all the rage

Thank you all for the positive comments on my engagement to a little Italian beauty... I actually had a test ride back in 2008, when they were introduced... A very nice experience, and I remember thinking, "I could live very happily with this one" .... then , within days..... my "caring"... "sharing" ... "investor - in - people" employer , told me I was next on the list for redundancy...!!    So, as you can guess, bike out of the question. However, circumstances have changed, and my 60th is nearly upon me, so.... " I'm worth it..!!!!. "  I am totally in agreement with all of your comments, it doesn't matter one bit about it's horse power..... what floats my boat, is the abundance of torque it gives you, right there in that part of the rev band we all call ..... " The real world" ....  Once again, thanks all, Regards, Tony

New software to learn and Moto Guzzi info about as organised as a Greek bankers work rota, so I did my own service notes. Applies to a 2014, but I'm sure it's close enough to get you started.

Thank you very kindly, Andy. I'm certain that information will prove to be very useful to me in the future. It may be a little time till I wield my own tools on it.... It has not yet even been assembled..!! The second time a spanner caresses it's nuts, will be during it's first service... I will more than likely have dealer stamps in the service book.... till the warranty period expires. Regards, Tony

The dealers are a bit variable. Bought mine in Thirsk from a proper old school bike shop. Had the 600 service there but I aren't going to spend two days going up there every time. The valves need to be cold before they'll touch it. The nearer place is a boutique you wouldn't trust to plug in a hair dryer. Moto Guzzi don't pay out on warranty, they ignore you until you get bored and fix it yourself.

As nothing happened in the first 5000 miles I figure the warranty is now just about them selling me oil.
