Anyone had an MT 350?
« on: August 13, 2013, 09:54:20 PM »
I am considering buying a Harley Davidson MT 350 as a winter bike as I don't think my GN 400 will cut it due to the kickstart only. Like a lot of us who have ridden through winter year after year I have dodgy knees and really want an electric start.

So as the title says really has anyone owned one of these? My mate had a 500 version some years ago and I was very impressed with the build quality. Does the 350 have the same quality?

I'm not looking for performance as I just want a hack to get me through winter so my Midnight Star can stay in the garage.

Great bikes, same quality components as the Armstrong with better wiring/electrics and have the electric start and disc brakes fitted.

There is a big following and the best ever motorcycle forum www.mtridersclub.co.uk

Because of this I think they are commanding too much money compared to similar jap stuff and the parts although available can be expensive, particularly the Rotax stuff.

Theres a place near Grantham that sells all sorts of ex forces hardware - bikes, jeeps, armoured personnel carriers, mineclearers!!! -I know they've had MT350's in the past so you  might be able to get one for a good price?

I have found a place in Lichfield which might be the one you mean Steve. Me and a mate are going to go and have a mooch round, see what they have on offer.

Withams is the place where the MOD release their bikes for auction, LMS Litchfield and Force Motorcycles buy and reburbish them to sell on.

They do come up for sale quite often on the website I mentioned as well as ebay.
