Stafford Show
« on: October 21, 2012, 10:10:21 PM »
Hi all,
Firstly I hope everyone got home safe and sound without too much bother. Also I wanted to say what a blast I had over the weekend, plenty of coffee, sarnies, good company and plenty of people to talk bikes and bollocks with. A good time was had by all. It was a pleasure to meet new people and put faces to names. I do hope we can do it all again soon!

Thanks must of course go to the Carricks for their warm hospitality and hard work, without whom these events wouldn't actually take place for the Thumperettes, keep up the good work.

Sincere thanks

Ian :)

Photos posted later as its a bit late now  :-[

Endorse everything Ian says above. Haven't been so heavily involved with the TC of late as I've had so much other stuff on my plate. Good to meet up with a few old faces and say a few "Farewells!" before I, hopefully, pi$$ off to Qatar.

Cheers
Boyd

PS Keep an eye out for TC 'shed meet' in Doha. If you're passing by pop in - there should be a least Mark, Ifor and myself!

Didn't stop long at the stand, but good to catch up with a few mates there. Stafford seems to have grown somewhat, took us an hour to get out of the car park!

Shopping trip was a success and I've now got plenty of toys to play with. ;D

Cheers for the jaffa cake and company.

PS - we'll sort out that pint in the Plough soon GC  ;)

the stand was excelent with such a varied show of bikes,my favorite was the aprllia moto 6.5,ive always fancied one of those,it reminds me of my bmw f650st but its wearing sexier clothes. also the poster YOU CANT TOUR ON A SINGLE was great, this year we went to the TT then came home via ireland two up loaded with camping gear without a problem. this proves your poster to be correct.the srx was stunning and also the 250 rs,both in different ways,   Great stand, see you at dragon, steve

Great to see everyone at the show. It was busy and I'm a tad tired now though. I'd love to take some of the credit but most of the work was done by Gareth, including some very creditable sandwich making on both days.

I had the rare treat, this year, of returning from a show with a purchase that my wife liked (£20 one-piece leathers - she's a kinky gal  ;)). Normally she just grimaces and says "how much?"

I met that bloke who hosts 'The Bike Show' on ITV4 around TT time. He asked how my weekend had been and I said "Well, last night a female rugby player got me into a headlock" and he said "a good weekend then". I said "It couldn't have been better"  ;D

GC

p.s. Ian and Steve - I brought those bits back with me, I will arrange to drop them off to Steve. Is that ok?

Especially the ones with salad in. ;D

Good to see everyone.

Cheers Gareth for arranging things.

GC, have you said prayers yet?

Mark.

Just like to thank everyone for the putting the effort in to show your bikes this weekend, as always Ians SRX was a big hit and Mics 6.5 had a lot of interest too.

Mark, glad you enjoyed all of the salad rolls!!!

Highlight of the weekend for me was the look on  GC's face when the nice young lady on the table next to us got him in a headlock, what a picture.

Anyway hope everyone got back ok and thanks again to you all.

Cheers
Gareth

PS Ian, i am a Jones not a Carrick, Jones was a little to common for GC so he changed his name.

The club and our stand and even my bike (though they had the cheek to call my Moto odd  :) ) got a mench in Classic Bike Guide this month.  Somewhere around page 11 I think.

After it's long sleep (2004 to 2012) the thing is running v nicely, still some good riding to be had this time of year.  Cannot make the Dragon but is anyone going to the Manx this year?  I have my tickets for race week.
