Either that or the shop is only expecting to be around for a fortnight.

I stopped last night to help out a stricken owner of an AJS 125 twin. A Chinese AJS I hasten to add. One of these:


His chain had come off so I replaced it and then we found that although it was showing a neutral light, it wasn't in neutral. However he had drive when in gear so he rode off to investigate further. I can't say whether his chain jumped due to gearbox trouble or if the chain jumping had caused the gearbox to play up.

The chassis' quality was bloody shocking, but to be fair his biggest problem would have been the same whether he was riding the AJS or a Honda... lack of maintenance. His chain was absolutely knackered.
