Had a real kids day on Saturday, followed by a nice curry and an early night. Which I needed.
I was up early on Sunday to drive my van over to my running buddy's house to pick up her and her boyfriend's bikes to take them off to the start line of a charity cycle ride. I arrived slightly early, but was dismayed to find that she was just making breakfast and wasn't ready. Needless to say we were still unloading the bicycles as the rest of the field departed.
Despite this we had a good ride and the weather gods were kind. It was a 38 mile ride on very undulating terrain and, for me, a distance of 37 miles would have been better. I blew up a mile from home. However, an old cycling partner of mine saw me as he returned from the finish and he looped back and sat in front to drag me to the line. Cheers Geoff

My time was on the wrong side of three hours, but in our defense we had stopped a few times. It's galling to think that the last time I rode this event in 1995 I did it in 1 hour 35 minutes.
I got home just in time to install myself in front of the telly to watch the Eurosport coverage of the GP. What can you say about Rossi? Bloody fantastic. Later I watched the Moto3 and Moto2 races and that rounded off a good bike sport day. I'm loving the thumper noise of moto3
