A sad day indeed
« on: April 15, 2012, 08:47:43 AM »
I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to complete my project bike. Every day I have to go into the shed to see it lying there under its dust covers reminding me what a failure its been, so I'm selling her off.

Have posted on the "For Sale" section, but thought I'd make you all aware here too (anyone who knows how to add a link to this post from the sales page please feel free to do so).

She's for sale here for one week, then it's all going on ebay. Any serious offer will be accepted and I don't mind posting (at buyers expense)

PM or ring/text 07920 102144

Cheers, Pat the sad.

Pat,

I think you should finish it after all the work you have done. If you get rid of it you will only want to start another project. If it goes what will you do instead?

Keep it to one side ! DONT Get Rid Of It !

Its not going to hurt.
A friend of mine has had a Project on the go for well over 20yrs.
It has changed direction a couple of times but he still enjoys doing a little to it every so often.
Admittedly he has other bikes and done work to those.

You will miss it and have the "If Only","What If".

I'd say Keep It and do what you can when you can......And Enjoy !

You Pillock !  ;) :D ;D

Look at GC.....painful I know !  How long has he had his Caff Racer on the back burner ?
And The Icky !

You will only regret it !

Get it under cover, preserved and out of sight. Far easier and cheaper to uncover and restart what you have when time and money allows than agonise over getting another when the mood takes you.

Sorry guys, know what you're saying, but I just can't stand it being there any longer. IT HAS TO GO!!

If I should change my mind in the years ahead, so be it, I'll start again then. For now I've other things on my mind and it sitting there in the shed is not only depressing but getting in the way of what I want to do now.

As I said, if you're interested in any of the parts, give me the nod. If no takers here, then it'll be ebayed next weekend.

Cheers.

Oh dear Pat!  :'(

Sorry to read the tale of woe and mixed emotion! Shame that Domi motor is going to be cast adrift. May I offer the following as a potential bribe?

BEWARE OF SOME OF THE LINKS FROM THIS LINK BELOW, IF YOU DON'T WISH OTHERS TO OGGLE, NUDITY AND TATTOOS!

"Not_Honda!"

Although, knowing your fortitude, nuff said!  :-X

Good health and all the best for the replacement indulgence!  ;)

My regards, Bill.

Er Bill, I think Pat was intending to build a nice bike, not a pile of **** like in the pics. Whoever put a rear brake on the drive sprocket?...and I don't fancy the strength of that swing arm.  :o

Aye Steve,

I think, I thought I knew where the build was going, but then Pat has changed the 'goal posts'!  :'(

So, a minimalist sculpture rather than a 'complete' motorcycle, (Whatever that is?  ??? ) might be a way for Pat to develope his 'artistic' bent and raise additional capital from the 'neuvo riche' of the Welsh Assembly. All without additional time and effort on his part!  ::)

I have to agree that the design of the 'Not-a-Honda' is not to my liking and the engineering appears 'suspect', at best!  ;)  Not worthy for an 'End to End' motor, maybe?  :'(

I hope you are in good fettle?  :)

My regards, Bill.

Yes Bill in fine fettle , working too hard but Scotland is again on my radar and I want to come over to your neck of the woods to do some exploring. I will be in touch when plans are a little firmer for dates etc.

Similarly I hope you are good.

Will pm you soon.
