A nice day out before the snow arrives
« on: April 01, 2012, 08:44:41 PM »
Took the "new" bike out for its first real run today....went to Quatt Cafe then returned via Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock to Ironbridge. Stopped by the Bridge for a spot of sunbathing and took a few pics of scrots and others  before setting off back home on the monoshock...a lovely ride compared to the twinshock methinks.

Ian :)

PS Dunno about those black exhausts on the new W800 though  :-\

Aye Ian,

SRX looks, very nice, and interesting to read that you think the ride is superior to the twin shock.

In the day, I never saw 'scrots' that bling, Latin paint and chrome tended not to stick!  ;)

As for the W800 exhaust, I have to agree, it appears "Naff!". It all looks a bit 'low' and liable to scrape, whilst the matt 'heat shield'?  ???

Glad you had a good day.

We had a wee run out via Auchterarder, Gleneagles, Braco, Cultybraggan WWII PoW camp and Comrie to a Norton Owners soiree. Then continued back home the 'long way', via Lochearnhead, Lix Toll, Killin, Kenmore, Aberfeldy (Fish and chips! :P) and then back over the tops via the Sma' Glen and Glen Almond, home. Clouds just sitting on the tops and a wee dusting above 3000'. ??? We shall see what tomorrow brings.

My regards, Bill.

Well I only got a quick blast round Selby and up towards York, but the "Big" DIY job is done so planning for next week.

Is that W800  a factory finish? The exhaust I would sign up for but not with gold rims and all that chrome on the engine. Looks like the sort of parts bin accident that produced the old boys Guzzi.

I like the look of the W800 but I'm waiting for them to bring out a competitor to the Triumph Scrambler. If they keep the full power rating and space for two panniers it'll be good.
