I was bamming home yesterday, and the bike was on song - beautiful-(thanks 002).

As I came into town I applied the brakes - no big grab or anything but whoops out she went and down we went in a shower of sparks, arse!!
There I was sliding down the road thinking about how bent things were going to be.

When I stopped the guy I had overtaken some way back pulled up - you OK? I was, "20 years since I rode an MZ" he said. Figure that one, the guy who stops is an ex-MZ rider.

Anyway a cursory examination reveals bent footrest, handlebars and gear lever, and one broken indicator.

Not bad I thought, no new marks on the tank, slight champher on the front mudguard and the clutch lever, which was intact.

So with a bit of luck we should be back together in time for the Dragon.

As for me I am a bit sore, wax jacket has a small hole in one pocket but the lid is unscathed. Hood trousers holed but I wasn't.

Conclusion: these are as tough a bike as you find anywhere.
