Good choice. Congratulations.  ;D

Tha variation from rider to rider is huge. I get high 40's low 50's on the Bonneville and have never seen below 42. There are guys there who can get 35  :o Thinking about a replacement along the lines of a Tiger or Tenere which are supposed to be better and the figures are almost identical with the odd few getting the 60 mpg modern FI is supposed to produce. Proves the biggest issue is what's fastened to the throttle?

Three Tenere's got 67 mpg on a trip around Scotland fully loaded but in 'have a good time' mode.
A Tankful is regularly getting 200+ miles before reserve and then with more than 50 on reserve and this seems to be quite consistent on the XT660 website ;D
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

As a curiousity, are they using US or Imperial gallons?
Current softy riding has the Ten up from it's usual 48/9mpg to 57-9mpg.

Thanks for the good wishes chaps  :)
Currently less than 48hrs 'till the big day  :o

Re the fuel cons website, yes it very much depends on the rider but at least it's a guide to what some riders are getting under real use, if enough people input you get a possible range and a working average.
Certainly I generally get around 60(uk)MPG from the Skorpion in mixed useage.
As for the US/proper gallons, dunno, will probably look closer after this week is done(!)
