Life does make you think now and again doesnt it?

I took a night off from bike things just to chill out....after today having started to do my second part of my teaching certificate...I was almost sleepless last night worrying about doing it..got to work and realised..I dont need to worry at all.....
Andy we seemed to think in parallel today...thanks for your thoughts.

There is a drain plug under the motor?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Thanks Andy, ROFLMAO

My gripe is the ratshyte rubber return hose! All Skorp owners should replace or at lease check this regularly for cracks and leaks at the tank end. Mine perished soon after I got the bike right on the elbow, directing a jet of oil right onto the rear wheel. NASTY!

Alas, as the Skorp's been lowered, the rear tyre can hit the tank on severe bumps. I have cut an inch out of the hugger to eleviate this, but inadvertantly got a higher profile tyre last time. I will now need to work out some sort of stop to prevent the silly little tank being ripped out before I can ride it again. Maybe I can reset to the original height and wear thick soled boots(about 2 inches should be about right)

My Easter break was to completely strip and rebuild/ renew, grease and oil the MuZ . Didn't happen thanks to a cager cos I am still sore, but it will happen, hopefully before Christmas.

Kurt-

Yep, drain plug is a 17mm hex on the LHS of the cases.  Not too far from the oil supply line (you know- 2x allen bolts and very losable rubber o ring).

I've also had the failing return line.  Thankfully just an oil mist on the back end, not onto the wheel.  The bikes are getting on a bit now, mine's a 98, and was probably ok for 10 years....

I haven't re greased the dreadfully designed (from a service/ reliability point of view) bearings in the back end for about 5 years now.  I suspect there will be some to do at some point.

And then I'll mod the rocker with a grease nipple.  I was too scared last time, but now am probably up to the job!
