Weekend debrief
« on: April 25, 2011, 08:06:46 PM »
Went up to Stafford on my outfit following Ifor on his Norton 16H, took a route via Llandovery, Builth Wells, Knighton, Bishops Castle, Shrewsbury, Newport. Took forever but stopped for food at a pub in Bishops Castle to suss the town out ready for birthday/festival weekend in July, think it'll be a good one.

Stopped two nights at the showground and didn't buy a thing...result. ;D

Called back to Llanthony for the Sunday night where we were hosted by the Two Js, both hairyish J and Big J were like lobsters obviously nowt better to do than sit around half(???) naked drinking beer in the sun. But true to his word Big J had a pot of curry waiting for me and mighty fine it was too followed by a few quick stouts at the cellar bar.

Leisurely pack up this morning and a nice ride over the top into Hay via the view of Lord Herefords Knob(there you go Hairy J) through Brecon, Llandovery back home.

Next time will be November and if I remember correctly, the last time you were there you would never go camping again. :D

Hi all, Pat & I went over to Lincs for this long weekend, after she'd watched the wedding on telly. At the Classic Bike meet on Saturday I bumped into Beeman and his boy riding a 225 Serow...we were on the Suzuki Starfire. We set off on the run together, but got split up and met later for a chat......a well attended meeting, not a cloud in the sky, but the wind was cool. In the afternoon Pat & I headed down to Norfolk and used a campsite as a base to tour the area collecting Round Britain Rally landmarks.....we covered about 300miles on the bike and it runs well averaging 49mpg.

Sorry to hear about Bruce, I had met him a few times, but not last year, at Onslow Park for the Steam Rally and at other locations where likeminded people meet.
