Doing the ton on an XBR?

Just curious, how many of you has actually driven past 100MPH on an XBR? How much past and was it a stocker or modified (and if so, what was done to it?)?

Never much past the ton on any of mine, even the 650.

We would lose our bike for 28 days, loss of licence, loss of lots of money, and having to pay hefty storage fees for return of said bike......
BTW the Honda Silverwing scoot does it two up and some power still in reserve.
The MuZ won't because of the extra 2 teeth on the rear sprocket.

I've said this before as I've only done it once...

My SRX400 did it with a straight through exhaust but the vibration ment I had to have a loose grip on the bars.

It didnt enjoy it as it wouldnt go over 70 on the way home.

I didn't mean on a public road but on a track. From my REALLY minimal driving experience on an XBR I question wether it's even possible on a stocker. The datasheet says that it is in theory as the top speed exceeds 160km/h.

I test rode a clean one a while back, I'm not sure if it actually got to an indicated ton or not. Certainly it went past an indicated 80leptons, but I think the clutch was slipping a little.

Mine will do over the ton and 90 2 up, very modified xbr. Gearing is 16 tooth front sprocket, standard rear sprocket and 80 profile rear tire. (if you are interested in engine specs just ask.)

I've had 100mph showing on the speedo - on a former runway (honest). The problem I found was that with a standard engine and standard gearing it wouldn't pull full revs in top gear - about 7000rpm as I recall. Maybe a different rear sprocket would help. That said, it's not something I would want to do on a regular basis, if you want to travel at those speeds a 500cc single is probably not the best tool to do it.

Legal on the iom.
Stock srx just about a ton down the mountain, tuned srx, 110 up the mountain not sure down as too busy staying safe to look. Not tried with xbr but should be possible as plenty of good long runs.

First proper run I did on my SRX 4 was down to bulldog bash all of 2 days after buying it,
figured I was being fairly sensible not really doing more than 80 all the way down the A46 stopped at Leicester Forest East to find the speedo was "a little out" and my mates had been doing 100+ to keep up
Don't do it very often  but sometimes it's nice to let the old girl have her fun

Still it wasn't fogy like the day before. The look on your face when you did the mountain, almost straight after getting of the ferry, in fog at 80mph over the double white lines round blind bends! good thing it was one way traffic.
Any way that beemer certainly could motor for an old twin.

The reason it motors is
a. Because old Marshall is genuinely quick (but don't tell him)
b. Because it isn't safe to use the brakes in corners - she dives for the nearest hedge without slowing
c. THE BLOODY BRAKES DON'T WORK - ask GC, the look on his face when he got off it at Baskerville Hall was a picture.
