Hi, All
Well, definitely one of my best ever, After a somewhat delayed start, Rob was not as his best,
the XBR was definitely sulky, we finally made it to the Church Hill House on Friday, Bettws
was great, a good welcome from Julie (Landlady) and then Oz and Cliff turned up. Some Ale
consumed, Rob reckons about 8 pints of Speckled Hen plus some malt whiskies to settle us for
the night. Gentle start on Saturday and a run up the A5 to fill up with petrol, none in Bettws
this year, followed by a steady ride to Control and so up to the site. On approach it looked
really wet and muddy so I left the bike at the Copper Mine and walked in to investigate. I was
spotted as I walked in and called over to the patch selected, no mud here, good camping, so
thanks to Jules and others who would not let me quit and go home, I was persuaded to bring the
bike down and pitch, it must be a stage I am going through. The rest is history, fancy swapping
from beer to spirits at 2:30 in the afternoon feeling it must be time for bed by 4:30pm.
Talking Bollocks ended about 11:00pm and so to a warm dry sleep, rain lashing down outside but
who cares. 7:00am and awake because the rain has stopped, a coffee and fruisly bar and start
packing for a very wet cold miserable ride home, just as a Dragon should end. Thanks guys for a
great weekend, I really enjoyed being with you all. I guess I am lucky, I did not catch Rob
Gunstone's lurgy although some claimed to have.
