Two questions
« on: February 06, 2011, 09:00:47 PM »
I appreciate this site had a leaning toward things of a single cylinder four stroke persuasion but here's a question some of you may have an answer to:
Has anybody seen or heard of a Yamaha RD400 engine being fitted in an '86 vintage (Jap spec) twin shock SRX chassis?
I like the way my stock SRX handles and I just happen to have an engine and spare chassis.
I think the engine/chassis would compliment each other rather nicely with a projected 125 kilos, 45 rear wheel bhp and a trail of blue smoke.
Opinions/observations/witty mickey taking would be welcomed. (as would a 620 SRX lump for £100.00...)

Regards,

John.

Sounds like a hoot and would, of course, drive us thumper fans mad with anger  ;) :D

It would also be like one of those Hollywood movies when the vehicle appears on screen, but with the wrong engine noise dubbed on top (like the little 4 stroke thumper trail bike in Terminator 2, dubbed as a 2 stroke).

As an aside, wouldn't it be great if, in real life, you too could add the noise of squealing tyres every time you pulled away regardless of how slow you do it. I love that in films, almost as much as the noise of squealing tyres when the car/bike/truck comes to a stop on dirt or grass  ::) :D :D

Brilliant idea. Can't wait to see it in all its blue smoke glory!

Gents,
I have to admit I do like the humour here, somewhat obscure at times but with an entertaining bite.
It may just be worth building the thing just for the reaction here...

 John.

I was, in fact for once, being quite serious. I can't imagine that it hasn't been done before somewhere - Japan or France being the usual suspects!
