I'm sure most of us are pretty lazy about the attractions of our home towns. How many people who live in York visit the cathedral? How many people in Glastonbury walk up to the Tor?
I was thinking about this today because we made a family decision to go to Southerndown beach, where wind-driven waves crashed onto a spectacular rocky shore. This impressive spot is a mere half hour (fast) drive from my home in the city of Cardiff and yet I hardly ever go there.
