Can't wait for the Archers tonight
« on: January 02, 2011, 04:43:43 PM »
It's been a while since anything shocking happened in Ambridge and, as an avid Archers fan, I can't wait for tonight's 60th anniversary episode... what will the shocking story be?

Will anyone else be listening?

I get to hear enough episodes to keep abreast of proceedings....

tonight....something awful will happen.....like Linda Snell falling off her bike and scratching her knee maybe
Or Eddie Grundy's cider going sour (probably was anyway!)

did you hear the rundown of the producers from the beginning on R4 ? fascinating

Nah, I'm busy keeping up to date in the 50th anniversary year of Coronation St.

I didn't hear that, but I did hear a programme about the politics of the Archers. In the beginning every character had a back story created and all relevant details recorded on index cards. All the main characters were described as:
Religion: Church of England
Politics: Conservative

Thankfully times change  and the village's demographics are more representative of Britain as a whole ;)

I still get a bit teary-eyed when I remember the episode when they found John Archer dead under his overturned tractor...

As for tonight's episode, hopefully it will bring an early demise for bloody Helen. She's doing my head in lately.

Bollocks, Helen lived  :(

We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if Nigel has survived his fall from the roof of Lower Loxley. I suspect not.

:'(   I´m old enough to remember Walter Gabriel falling into a combine harvester, but came out alive (due to popular demand)!  ???
