What if.....
« on: November 27, 2010, 01:31:08 AM »
The world is full of what ifs etc etc, but I think this has to be one of the "biggest" what ifs ....

Apparently it is still a runner and in the care of Coventry Transport Museum if you want to take a closer look....who knows if it had taken off Mr Bloor may never have bought the company

Nice one, but why is the centre stand on backwards?

Must be one of those versions where people ride on the wrong side of the road!

Is that one of the proposed modular range? I don't know much about the demise of the Brit bike industry but I seem to recall someone (either Hele or Hopwood) talking about a range of engines sharing common components that was put forward but rejected by the management.

Another bike I used to have, well almost anyway. I bought a frame and swing arm for £50 many years ago and got hold of a Bonnie lump to drop in it, a very tight squeeze by all accounts from those that managed it. As usual fate decided to give me a bit of a slap and I lost my job, so that project and a Bennelli 354 sport had to go to pay the bills. They vibrated quite a lot according to reports at the time, but I would still have liked one. If you could find a frame(not much hope of that though) I reckon they would take most big singles and make a nice little bike.

Sorry to hear that, but it reminded me of how Humphrey Lyttleton used to end "I'm sorry I haven't a clue", by saying things like:
"And as the little old lady of time is mugged by the skinhead of destiny..."

Perhaps it doesn't sound like much, but by God I miss the old bastard. However I went to see ISIHAC live in Cardiff a couple of weeks ago and I can report that Jack Dee is doing sterling work in Humph's old seat.
