Hopefully it'll come out OK. I once had to remove and completely strip a CB200 engine to retrieve an errant dowel, it was found at the back of the gearbox.

It was a washer falling down the camchain tunnel, fortunately the camchain tunnel doesnt sit over the main crankcase so it fell down behind the flywheel. We eventually managed to fish it out, but only just, the clearance between the casing and electric start ring gear is fairly small so it was tricky.
We got it all back together only to find the electric start had given up the ghost, so its still sat in my garage.

Had a taxing moment once when Jethro dropped an allen key down my XBR's camchain tunnel. Thank the lord for magnets on sticks.

Now then, I'm not totally at fault here! Was a nasty moment though :-[
Yes, the return of the XT has been stalled by a failure in the starter motor department, though I must say, I would rather discover the fault now than on a wet weekend as I set off home from the dragon! Parts ordered but can you remember how to put the starter motor back together Steve? I must say, I wasn't paying much attention at the time.

No problems, the lump hammer is still out on the bench so it shouldn't be too problematic  ;D

Who moved the bolt ? ;D

Once dropped a socket into the car whilst working on it - was sure it had gone down the exhaust so bolted it all together and started her up graunch crunch and other noisy sounds as the socket and the alternator got it on together....
